NDSU HOMECOMING

Over the past week, (October 4-9) North Dakota State University celebrated its' annual homecoming. On Monday, NDSU hosted a BBQ along with a pep fest that started off the activities for the week. Tuesday, students, faculties, and members gathered around for a Community Service Project Day where the "herd" was able to give back and thank community members for honoring the University. Following Tuesday, on Wednesday, there was a Bison Trivia Night hosted in the Memorial Union where students were able to gather around and even win prizes! On Thursday, there was a volleyball game where NDSU played Denver in the Benson Bunker Field House along with a blood drive hosted in Cater Hall. Going into the weekend, on Friday, President Dean L. Bresciani presented a State of the University Address following along with an annual homecoming parade. For Saturday, the Bison Nation gathered around to enjoy a fun-filled day of tailgating, a volleyball game vs. Omaha, and eventually ended with a football game against the University of Northern Iowa (Panthers). To no surprise, NDSU football has had no upsets with dominantly taking over and winning the game. Football is now on a winning streak with going 5-0 into the middle of the season.

Following up with the NDSU Football win from October 9 and with the Bison being 5-0, the question is, will there be another Championship title in the near future? After Trey Lance leaving to go pro in the NFL and playing for the 49ers, NDSU is showing signs that they have advanced their players to work around that obstacle and improved their bond as a team. With Quincy Patterson being quarterback and with a strong offense and defense, in my opinion, I believe that the football team is showing strong signs of going far into the 2021 season. This coming week, the Bison take on the Illinois State Redbirds on October 16 in Illinois with hopes of coming back to the Fargo Dome with yet another win.
